Executive Assistant (EA) and Governance Coordinator

  • Naarm/Melbourne location with working from home flexibility
  • Permanent Full-time, Part-time considered
  • $86,144 per annum pro rata, plus 15.4% superannuation

The Community Broadcasting Foundation is a proud champion of community media – Australia’s largest independent media sector. We distribute funding to strengthen over 450 community media organisations in Australia – connecting people over across the country, including more than five million people who tune into their local community-owned and operated radio stations every week.

The Role

In this integral role, you will be responsible for supporting the CEO and Executive Officer with the day-to-day operations of the organisation.

Reporting to the CEO, you will provide EA support to the CEO and ensure the smooth running of all Governance related matters of the organisation. This incorporates Board meeting management and supporting the Finance, Audit and Risk Management (FARM) Committee in their functions.

You will be highly organised, have an eye for detail and exceptional interpersonal and planning skills. You require demonstrated experience in drafting minutes and reports, managing compliance mechanisms, and high-level stakeholder management skills.

Communications Manager

  • Work with an organisation that champions community media across Australia
  • Manage CBF communications and build awareness and understanding of the community broadcasting sector 
  • Part-time permanent role (0.6 – 0.8 FTE) –  $106,432 per annum pro rata, plus 15.4% superannuation

This is a senior communications role responsible for managing the CBF’s strategic communications activities. The role is responsible for ensuring that all CBF communications reflect the brand and values of the organisation and are aligned with the CBF Strategic Plan and Roadmap 2033 priorities.

You will manage, update and implement the CBF’s communications plan to promote the work of the organisation, provide information about our grants and their impacts, and build broader awareness and understanding of the community broadcasting sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the CEO, Executive Officer, Grants Support Team and Policy Team to provide communications leadership and strategic advice across the organisation, supporting consistent, effective communication strategies
  • Supporting the outcomes and priorities of the CBF Strategic Plan and Roadmap 2033
  • Producing and distributing high-quality, timely and accessible content for internal and external channels and stakeholders
  • Managing the CBF website
  • Managing the Communications Co-ordinator
  • Other duties as directed by the CEO

You will have demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and managing strategic communications including brand and content strategies.  As a skilled storyteller with advanced writing and editing skills, you will be experienced in writing for online channels (website, social media, e-newsletters) and have relevant experience working within an NFP or campaign-focused organisation.

With your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will interact with a wide range of people and represent the CBF at a senior level – exercising strong diplomacy skills and highly developed emotional intelligence.

Drawing on your creative, strategic and analytical mindset, you have excellent skills in problem-solving, planning and providing strategic communications advice – with the ability to take a flexible, hands-on approach.  As a self-motivated and energetic individual, you can work independently and as an effective team member.
